Mixxx Controller Mappings by tekhedd
I’ve been maintaining custom mappings for my fav controllers, and I’ve noticed that they don’t turn up if you search for them. So I’ve made this page to help people find them, and as a backup archive in case somehow gitlab suddenly ceases to exist.
You can find all of the BYTE HEAVEN projects in this group on gitlab.
The Mappings
To use any of these releases:
- Download the “source code” archive.
- Don’t worry that it says “source code”. It’s just configuration files for mixxx.
- copy the files into your .mixxx/controllers directory
- Select the controller in settings. You might have to restart Mixxx first.
Vestax VCI-400
The VCI-400 is excellent. Its mapping is OK. With two dedicated encoders per deck, you have dedicated pitch and beatjump knobs, so there’s really not much call for multiple layers.

Vestax Spin
The Spin has really good wheels, decent pitch faders, and actually quite good sound quality. The down side is those sliders are pretty fragile, so don’t just throw it in a bag with other crap. Ask me how I learned this!

Hercules Dj Control Starlight
I hate the dead zone in the Starlight’s nudge function, so 1.0.3 will probably be my last release, but it’s pretty much complete anyway.

If I remember to update them, releases of these mappings can be downloaded directly from here!
