It has, as far as I understand this, “considerably more” psychoactive substances per unit weight than in previous decades. Which, I suppose, makes sense–with careful husbandry we can generally improve the quality of any crop. We’re scientific creatures and all that!

So, it’s stronger… but does this mean it’s somehow dangerous? I mean, let’s face it, you only want to get so high. I see two problems with the claim that this increases the danger to people:

1) If it is stronger, you will smoke less. A small quantity of weed will last longer. This means you get better value for the money. What could be better than that?

2) Since you can smoke (it is claimed) a lot less and get the same effects, doesn’t this imply a correspondingly decreased risk of lung cancer and other unpleasant side effects from trace chemicals?

It sounds to me like the new “killer weed” is actually a winning proposition, both fiscally and in terms of personal health. I don’t see a negative here. In fact, I see a conservative, capitalist ideal. I see reduced risk of lung disease and a reduced financial burden to our nation’s users, already struggling with high unemployment and a weak dollar.

I live in America, and our pot smokers are some of the finest in the world!

Since early this year, I’ve been hearing politicians talk about the increased danger of this new “killer” marijuana that is more potent.
